MEMEFEST 2008
Posted on June 17th, 2008 at 2:41 pm by admin

For the seventh year now, the organisers of the Memefest, based in Ljubljana,
a »festival of radical communication,« have encouraged students, professionals,
artists and activists alike to contribute their talents to the collective counter-culture.

And me, myself and I did some work too! Its called »ignor and rest, ignor the rest«.
Description »My idea is a two picture installation, in which non of the pictures matter
most. What matters is the filling word between them, which apparantly is missing…
and has to be conducted by the viewer.«

My contribution is in the category »Beyond«. Please give me a good rating (; >>

U.A.M.O Reloaded
Posted on April 7th, 2008 at 8:51 pm by admin

Once again the U.A.M.O (Urban Art & Media Organisation) festival took place in Munich City.
And they surprised with some nice pieces of Art (Like the Cephalopodas of Joe Image). And it
was a nice party as well. There are too many pictures, so I can only show a quick review of it.

The crew of Karl110, C. Behr, Alive and Pusher (who missed the show) put up this funky
lemon-squeezy-machine and produced a lot of good mood for the visitors…

uamoschober.jpg

Well visited festival. So a lot of people had a look at the new picture of Adrian Schober, 3,99…

uamo2.jpg

The contribution of Jon Torre, Raingirls…

uamo3.jpg

The Black Bloc introduction-kit of Sebastian Perdighe, visitors looking at a doodle of Noem Held…

Cultivated humans observing the meat-collage of Lisa Meier, look at the close-up… (I like meat!)

Surprise! The police popped in too. I’m not sure if the reason was an interest of Art…

bludysko.jpg

Now you can listen to some tracks of bludysko. I just put up a myspacesite for that.
So far there are three songs online: giggle with us, wasted land and the toxic blues.
They are all produced by pulco blue and me in the year of 2001. So they are pretty
old already. But I hope you still enjoy the sound, even if it’s not mastered by experts.

Check them on fluctibus inc. >>

Tidbits from California!

catfive1.jpg

Oh Yeah! This is CatFive: a great combo of creative people from Oakland, California.
Dj Darkat (who is a cool artist too. check out his work >>), Doc Oliver, Tweaktech,
and Earflaps. And balanceman is the hi tech consultant and volume advisor. They produce
subliminal trip-hip-hop-downstep beats with surprising elements. In their own words:
»Things found in the basement, our own brand of madness, tell us who we sound like.
the aftermath of a head on car crash with negativeland and the beastie boys…«
And the most amazing thing is, that you can download their new album for absolutly free!!!
Thnx a lot for that! We do always apreciate the open-source-culture. For real!

Download the album »Big Brother Runs the Company« (12 tracks, mp3) >>

From Loch Ness to Tokio

Well… The Japanese just got it right. They even make an animation work through
a fountain of water. Amazing! But it seems to be a guerillia-marketing-strategy.

The Sad Kermit

You have to watch this video. Apparently it’s offline on the original page.
I think the Disney-Company is trying to ban it. But the net is stronger!

Turn the sound around
Posted on February 22nd, 2008 at 12:26 pm by admin

I think everybody heard about the rumors that in commercial music
are satanic messages hidden. And when you play the sound backwards
the real sense will turn out. Jeff Millner has a webpage where you can
listen to some tracks, forward and backward. He calls it backmasking.
The best example is »Baby one more time« from Britney Spears:

Forward: »With you I lose my mind give me a si.«
Bachwards: »Sleep with me I’m not too young.«

But that’s pretty hard. Others just made funny things, like Pink Floyd.
Forward you don’t understand a word, but backmasked: »Congratulations.
You have just discovered the secret message. Please send your answers
to old pink, care of the funny farm, Chalfont.«

But check them out yourself, there are a lot more samples >>

Make Art! Youtube…
Posted on February 18th, 2008 at 6:13 pm by admin

This is a video I made for cheekychen. His attempt is to open an art-category on youtube.
Therefore everybody should make a video containing the words »make art« and upload it.

Make a video, upload it on youtube and post it as a response to cheekychen’s vid.

Du bist Scheiße

du-bist-scheisse.jpg

This is my contribution to the actual running image campaign in Germany »Du bist Deutschland« (You are Germany), which is supposed to create »positive thinking« and » a new national consciousness and pride« (!!!). It is supported by large media corporations, other companies and many celebrities. Just too bad that they never looked into the web for the origin of the saying: »You are Germany«. Because it was used in 1935 already and guess by who. Of course: by uncle Adolf the Führer himself >>.
