From Fashion to Reality …

… and all the way back. Peter Lindbergh is a phenomenon in fashion-shooting, there’s no question about it. His ability to catch the individual in its natural beauty without magnificent makeup and overwhelming setting has become a unique style of his creative work. So it is only fair that he is now honored in Munich with an outstanding exhibition (Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung till the 27th of August 2017). But you shouldn’t expect a walkthrough with just framed works of prominent people. Meandering through the premisses of the Kunsthalle you can discover a lot more than that: A nicely sorted storeroom with his equipment from the past analog times will be followed with a darkroom-installation explaining some of his scoops. Walls covered wildly with plenty of images supported by video-explanations. All in all it is worth seeing to get a peek of the spirit of that creative mind. Thanks to the Hypo-Kunsthalle for the invitation even if the opening was run down by too many people. The cue was going far down Theatinerstreet. No chance to get in. So we had a dinner in-between and enjoyed the show than later pretty privately even if the wine was already depleted. Here are some impressions of the exhibition.

»Putin Putin…«
Posted on May 2nd, 2017 at 5:23 pm by admin

The german-ingushian artist Ira Blazejewska has been meditating about Wladimir Putin for the last seven months. Her colourful outcome is currently shown at the Galerie Christoph Dürr in Munich. Altogether Ira produced about 30 pieces, mostly portraits. It has been written a lot about powerful people in the press and on the net, so it is nice to have a refreshing artistic view on a person like Wladimir Putin. Ira manages that without the normal loud accusations and criticisms. Her analysis is critical in a much more gentle and intellectual way.

The exhibition is running till the 12th of Mai 2017. More information and photos from the opening you can find on the website from Galerie Christoph Dürr [www.galerie-ch-duerr.de].
